PRIVATE LESSON TUITION IS DUE IN FULL BY THE FIRST LESSON OF EACH MONTH FOR THE MONTH IN ADVANCE. An invoice will be emailed at the end of each month, showing the tuition amount due for the next month, new music, audition fees, and other charges. There is no refund for tuition or fees paid. Past due invoices are subject to a 10% service charge.
RECITALS, AUDITIONS, COMPETITIONS, EXAMINATIONS
We strongly believe all students should engage in some of these activities. Many playing opportunities involve performing for a single judge with no audience. Students who prefer not to perform in front of an audience at recitals have various chances to participate in private auditions. Music study is more than simply "getting the notes." To enhance musicianship, students must strive to perfect their pieces to the best of their ability and perform them for someone who can provide positive feedback. The process of preparing for performances offers numerous benefits. It teaches students discipline and highlights the value of hard work and dedication.
PARKING and WAITING
Please park in the driveway. Three cars can easily fit. Please pull over to the right or left so a third car can park in the center. Do not block the sidewalks and please pull the car up to the front garage doors. Do not park on the street. When locking your car, PLEASE avoid the honking. This is a residential neighborhood and we must respect the others that live in the neighborhood. Do not use the neighbor’s driveways to turn around. The sitting area and bathroom outside the studios are for students, parents and other siblings to wait and use. Please do not wait in the upstairs living room or dining room and do not use the restrooms upstairs. Please no coats or shoes on the stairway.
MAKE-UP POLICY
Your tuition secures a regularly scheduled time for you. If you are unable to keep your appointment, no refunds or credits will be given. However, with advance notice and a valid excuse, a lesson may be rescheduled. A 24 hour notice would be appreciated. Please do not send a student to a lesson with a fever.
PRACTICING
Successful and rewarding music study depends on consistent daily practice. Parents are asked to provide the following: an established practice time; a good instrument in good repair; a practice environment free from distraction; supervision of practice sessions for the young beginner; encouragement and support in establishing good practice habits. Daily practice is recommended.
Suggested guidelines for practice:
Grades K - 4 - 30 minutes daily
Grades 5 - 8 - 40 minutes daily
Grades 9 - 12 - 60 minutes daily
Students preparing for auditions, competitions and festivals might require more than the listed time.
SUMMER SCHEDULE
Students are required to continue lessons throughout the summer if a place is to be held for them in the fall. No more than three lessons can be excused over the summer. More than three missed lessons over the summer will not guarantee a scheduled spot in the studio.
